Fathers Day at Howletts Wild Animal Park!

On Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th June 2017, Howletts will be hosting a celebratory weekend for fathers. Families can bring their dads for free on Father’s Day to explore the park and take part in the special activities and talks for all.

Go wild with dad and take him on a daring adventure on the Treetop Challenge. This exhilarating high ropes course will show you and him the park from a monkey’s perspective and for this special day Dad’s go for free. Who’s the King of the Swingers now…?

For all elephant loving dads, the day spent at Howletts is a must… It is home to the largest herd of elephant in the UK and only herd of African elephant in Kent. We’ve all heard the expression ‘elephants never forget’ but did you know that an adult African elephant can eat 150kg or more of foliage, grass, small branches and fruit and also drink 135 litres of water in one day? On Father’s Day there will be dedicated free-to-attend talks given by the rangers, so you can discover more interesting facts about the park’s elephant and also the gorilla, rhino, gibbon, tiger, lion and red river hog.

Kids can really get into the spirit of the animal park by having their face painted with their favourite animal and maybe persuading their dad to do the same too. Lastly, to ensure the day isn’t forgotten, there will also be the opportunity to create a unique Father’s Day memento to take home.

Father’s Day at Port Lympne Reserve!

On Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th June 2017, Port Lympne will be hosting a celebratory weekend for fathers. Families can bring their dads for free on Father’s Day and spend the day experiencing the wonders the Reserve has to offer.

Begin your day with dad on a spine tingling journey through the ages in the three-acre Dinosaur Forest, which is home to over 100 life size and anatomically correct dinosaurs. Then why not take a summer safari through the African, Asian and recently opened South American Experience –home to Kent’s only spectacled bear pair, Oberon and Rina.

Be prepared to be wowed and fascinated by the Education Presenters and Rangers, who will be giving free talks on the reserve’s gorilla, baboon, tiger drill and gibbon throughout the day. Finally, make your way to the Conservation area for card making –a lovely memento of the day to take home.

Canterbury Golf Club Lessons

Canterbury Golf Club Lessons: Take your form from the range to the course.

Its important to learn to play on real fairways with real hazards and not just the driving range.

The proffesional golf instructor Danny Maude, puts what is learnt on the range into practice on the course;

this is truly refreshing and we think most other PGAs would approve of this approach.

Having only had a few lessons with various PGA professionals in the past,

an hour long lesson at Canterbury Golf Club with Danny Maude, corrected swing mistakes.

This then translated into why we suddenly were hitting further and more acurately straight away.

We would recommend taking lessons here as the apporach was great from start to finish.

Every Golfer has his or her own ideas on what is right and wrong when learning.

But with Danny, it was very much an assesment & discussion, then a strategy for improvement which gave results from the start.

The environment at Canterbury Golf club is very convivial and informal so it doesnt

matter if you have never played before, or are trying to get your handicap down into single figures.

The club has a freindly feel to it making the experience one to remember.
